We offer a wide range of services to designers and innovative entrepreneurs mainly to help reinforce and enhance creativity through various focused and thematic technical support, innovation seminars and workshops, training, prototyping techniques, social events, and networking sessions. The Hub also has a fully equipped digital library, rapid prototyping services (e.g 3D printing), mock-up labs, meeting rooms, space for exhibition and events, co-working space, and cafeteria.

Yafet is makerspace manager. He is the Founder and CEO of an indigenous 3D Printing company called Dimir Technologies. He is a certified business mentor and is well versed in several disciplines ranging from editing and movie making to leadership and training, from being a 3D Printing Enthusiast to being a Computer Scientist and Engineer.

The Creative Hub Ethiopia initiated and run by UNIDO and EED with funding from the Italian Development Cooperation. Iceaddis and African Mosique are implementing partners.

EED

Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) was established by the Council of Ministers’ Regulation No. 1263/2014, with a mandate to develop a competitive Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The objective of EED is to enable the expansion of a Micro, Small and Medium manufacturing industry that is competitive at the international level by preparing policies, strategies and projects that expedite the development of the sector, building capacity of the executive and stakeholder bodies, coordinating and facilitating the provision of  governmental support for the effective development of manufacturing in Ethiopia.

Italian Development Cooperation

AICS – the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development – is one of key innovations established by the Italian law on international cooperation (Law No. 125/2014). The Agency began operating in January 2016, with the aim of aligning Italy with its principal European and global partners in the endeavor of development. Its basic model reflects that used in the main European countries, and it must comply with the demand for more professional and innovative forms of cooperation, involving the methodological flexibility necessary in a continuously evolving scenario

UNIDO is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability.

iceaddis

iceaddis

iceaddis is Ethiopia’s first innovation hub & tech startup incubator established in May 2011. We work on youth-driven private sector initiatives and facilitate constructive interaction between techies, entrepreneurs, investors and people from the creative industries. 

African Mosaique

A contemporary fashion design and production enterprise that focuses on local sourcing and production for the local and global market. Operating from a fully integrated design center producing fashion and leather products, it also provides free trainings and market linkages to emerging designers through the African Mosaique Fashion Incubator Program.

Learn. Design. Build.

If you are a fashion designer (footwear, clothing, leather products, etc), an ICT professional focused on digital solutions, an industrial and product designer and need a space to bring your ideas to life, learn innovative techniques to enhance your skills, connect with fellow creatives, and increase the quality of your products through capacity building, or need a space to showcase your work, the creative Hub will be the right place for you.

Webinars

Creative Hub Ethiopia will collaborate with local and international experts on timely and relevant discussions to members. This platform will create an opportunity to bring Ethiopian creatives and acclaimed experts in one place to create dialogue on relevant topics. The Hub’s team will also schedule specific topics customized to the Ethiopian context to solve local challenges that creatives face everyday.

Training

Using the Hub’s co-creation spaces, local and international trainers, tailored and hands-on training will be provided to creatives that will enable them to compete on international stages. The sessions will also help bring forward topics that members have not had a chance to explore in other platforms locally.

Makerspace

The Hub will support high-potential creatives through mentorship, business advisory, networking, and investment support, to eventually help them contribute to the flourishing creative industry.
